black dress and blue denim

it goes without saying that every girl NEEDS to have the lbd. while little black dresses tend to be simple in style, it's always fun to mix up your closet with some unexpected versions of this wardrobe staple. that's why i love my backless lbd- it's simple enough to wear during the day with a comfy sweater and exciting enough to turn some heads when dressed up. i kept my lbd casual by wearing an oversized sweater and some booties with a chunky heel. (side note: booties with a chunky heel are amazing because they make your legs look great just like a skinny heel would and they are versatile enough to dress up or down.) to compliment this everyday lbd, i wore some crystal and turquoise jewelry with my tan fringe cross body bag. for an elegant look, i kept it simple by pairing my backless dress with black ankle strap stilettos and some gold statement jewelry. a really fun accessory i recently picked up is my gold metal ponytail holder. this is the perfect accessory for a casual or glam ponytail to own- especially between washes! if the backless look shows a little too much skin for the event you're attending, a blazer would be the perfect way to cover up.

oh hello overalls, I've missed you! growing up, overalls were a wardrobe staple for me as I'm sure they were for many of you. i am thrilled that the 9o's trend has come full circle back into style. they are essentially effortless and i think they can be quite chic. for some fun, i really went for the 90's look pairing the cutoff overalls with a black crop top and a plaid flannel tied around my waist. i put on some black and gold sandals, my name necklace and a couple of dainty rings to complete the look. to glam them up (and yes, it is possible to "glam up" overalls) i paired them with a simple white tank and navy blazer. i added a sparkly statement necklace, my favorite brown clutch and some nude leather wedges. i also put on some hot pink lipstick because well, why not! i am so excited to sport these babies all summer long, let's embrace overalls together.

keep it chic xo
